Test cricket is the longest and most time taking cricket sports
among all forms of Cricket Game. Generally Test Cricket is played within two or
more National/ International Cricket Representative Team and it is regulated by
the sets of rule of International Cricket Council(ICC). Test
Cricket is played by two teams and with set of four innings and it normally
ends in five days. In general, test cricket is the measurement of ability of
all teams and team members. The main theme of Test matches is to examine and
test the ability of two or more team.
When looking back to the history of Cricket,
officially test cricket match was first played between England and Australia in
1877 which was played in the Melbourne Cricket Ground and the match was won by
Australia by 45 runs. When Celebration of 100years of Test Match was played in
Melbourne in 1977 (12th March to 17the March), Australia beat
England by 45 runs exactly as it was on their 1st Test Match.
It was the day of October 2012 when ICC recast the conditions of playing Test
Cricket and allowed to play day-night test cricket matches.
Test Cricket is classified as the First Class Cricket and the team must have Test Status to be participated in Test Cricket Match and the status is determined by ICC. There are 10 international representative team who have Test Status to be a participant of Test Cricket and among all them Bangladesh is the most recently added team which was applied in 2000. Zimbabwe’s Test status had been suspended by ICC due to their frequent poor performance during 2006 and 2011 and again it was returned to them in August’2011.
